Scientists are trying to figure out what caused the latest die-off of birds, this time in Italy. A bird protection group says more than 700 dead turtle doves have been picked up since Jan. 1 from the streets of a town near Bologna. The group says they appear to have overindulged on sunflower seeds, though turtle doves are also vulnerable to cold weather.
