At least one Australian has been killed in an air crash on the Indonesian part of the island of Borneo, the Indonesian National Disaster Mitigation Agency says. At least two people were killed when a Susi Air plane crashed in East Kalimantan about 1.30am today (local time). Indonesian press reports suggest the pilot Australian Jonathan Willis was among the dead along with a passenger who also may have been Australian. The pair are believed to have been conducting an aerial survey. Susi Air flies mainly small propeller-driven aircraft carrying freight and passengers around Indonesia. Australian pilot David Cootes died when another Susi Air plane crashed in the province of Papua last September.
