Tropical Storm in Madagascar on Sunday, 24 February, 2013 at 05:38 (05:38 AM) UTC.

Tropical cyclone "Haruna" hit Madagascar on Friday, with powerful downpours claiming the lives of at least ten people. With the approach of the cyclone, the island of Madagascar was inundated with heavy rains, which killed four. On Friday, the cyclone itself made landfall, bringing with it gale force winds. The storm raged for about a day and almost completely destroyed the city Morombe in southwest Madagascar. Another six people were killed in the ensuing destruction, with 17 hospitalized. Although currently "Haruna" has weakened to a tropical storm level and left Madagascar, in the next two days, meteorologists predict more heavy rainfall.
