| Description |
|
A disturbing discovery near Wasaga Beach, where the OPP says dead birds and fish continue to wash ashore in the the Nottawasaga Bay area. Police say they found a large number of dead water fowl early this morning near Allenwood Beach. The OPP are reminding people in the area to keep their pets and children away from any dead birds or fish that may have washed ashore. There has been some speculation that the birds and fish may have been killed by what is known as botulism, a serious neuromuscular illness caused by a bacterian produced toxin. Officials say the Ministry of Natural Resources has been notified.
