The Jump Up Fire is a lightning-caused fire discovered Monday, August 13, on the west side of the Kaibab Plateau, near Kanab Creek Wilderness. The fire is burning in short, brushy fuels and cheat grass near FR 423 on the North Kaibab Ranger District. There are no communities or structures at risk at this time. The fire is mapped at about 363 acres and is 50 percent contained. There is no new growth expected. |
