More than 80 flights of various European airlines canceled the airport of the Italian city of Pisa due to the ongoing forest fire on the outskirts of the city. This was announced by Toscana Aeroporti. The flights landing after 8 am in Pisa this morning were canceled, and for the departing ones - even earlier. Galileo Galilei Airport will be closed from 07:00 am to 7:40 pm local time. The fire in the province of Pisa broke out on Monday in the Calci Mountains. The reason for its rapid spread is the strong wind, and its changing direction made it even harder to control. In the extinguishing of the fire, which is not yet located, 40 technical facilities, including specialized airplanes, are being used. The evacuation of people continues. So far, there are no flights departing or landing in Bulgaria that are affected.
