Two people are dead following an airplane crash at the airport in Brant County. Officers were called to the airport at 8 a.m. Tuesday to respond to a small plane crash that happened overnight. The airport is typically only staffed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, but the airport is still used by small craft at night. They say the Piper-Arrow plane crashed on the property of the Brantford Municipal Airport. Investigators say both occupants of the plane were killed. They have been identified as Mildred Chamberlain, 81, and her husband Ronald Chamberlain, 76, both of Brampton, Ont. The Transportation Safety Board will be investigating the incident. Weather and plane mechanics are among the issues that will be considered. However, investigators say it could be months before the cause of the crash is known.
