A tornado touched down at the Savannah Yacht Club on Wilmington Island around 5:15 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. One boat at the yacht club was flipped over. Two roofs were damaged. FOX28's Katie Filling spoke with people who took cover under one of the structures that got damaged. They said the funnel ripped through very fast. CEMA said they've gotten a few reports of very minor injuries, but they did not say where they happened. Debris is scattered across some parts of the island. NWS confirmed the tornado in the Wilmington Island area on Twitter based on the pictures of damage. They said they will send a crew out Sunday to assess the area to determine EF rating and the path of the tornado.
