The preliminary survey by shows 2 brief tornadoes touched down in Rankin County earlier this morning as confirmed by the National Weather Service of Jackson. An EF-1 Tornado touched down on Old Lake Road moving northeast across Robinwood Subdivision. Several trees were uprooted or snapped with the majority of the damage being from large broken limbs. A power line was down on one road and a couple of homes sustained minor roof damage from fallen limbs. The tornado lifted as it crossed Highway 18. Max winds were around 88 MPH. An EF-0 tornado touched down along Mccullough-Mclin Road and traveled northeast for a couple of miles. Some trees were down with the majority of the damage being from large limbs broken. The tornado crossed Thomasville and Coke Roads with maximum sustained winds around 74 MPH.
