A Surfside building was evacuated for a time Tuesday after people complained of a chemical smell. The building is located at 90 Street and Collins Avenue. "Just before 10 a.m., Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to reports of a strong chemical smell coming from a loading dock near Collins Avenue and 90 Street," said a spokesperson for Miami-Dade Fire Rescue. The Four Seasons Hotel at The Surf Club is located at 9011 Collins but it was not clear if the hotel was affected. "More than 15 units along with hazmat units responded to investigate a possible chemical leak and evacuated the structure as a precaution," said a spokesperson for Miami-Dade Fire Rescue. Four people were treated on the scene but no one was taken to the hospital, according to the agency. "Upon our arrival we found there was a smell of a chemical," Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Chief Ralph Baena said. "Our hazmat team was called in to come and meter the building. After two hours, our Hazmat team found nothing on their meters."
