Pupils have reported feeling sick following an ongoing chemical incident at a school in Barnsley. Police, hospital staff and fire crews are dealing with the incident at Barnsley Academy. Parents have now gathered at the school gates, the Barnsley Chronicle has reported. A statement posted on the school website said: "Due to the presence of the fire brigade on the school site, investigating a possible incident we will need to keep pupils in school for the time being there is no cause for alarm as this is a precautionary reason and we will update you asap. "All pupils are being well looked after and we are awaiting the fire brigade to give us the all clear." A statement from South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said: "We are assisting the police and ambulance service at an incident at Barnsley Academy where some pupils and staff have presented with some medical symptoms.
