Hail the size of golf balls was reported in some areas as an afternoon storm swept the North West region after Sunday's hail storm in Bundarra. The Bureau of Meteorology issued a severe storm warning about 2pm with concerns for strong winds and hail. Hail hit the Gunnedah shire about 2.30pm with golf-ball sized hail stones reported in the Curlewis and Mullaley areas. Hail hit parts of Tamworth and Armidale just before 5pm. The Bureau of Meteorology issued a severe thunderstorm warning for parts of the Northern Tablelands in the late afternoon. In Narrabri, residents have reported hail to the size of golf balls.
