The Georgia State Patrol says one person has died and several others have been taken to a hospital with injuries after a crash involving a school bus on Interstate 75 in Valdosta. The bus was transporting Lowndes County high school students collided Monday afternoon with a tractor-trailer on I-75. No details were immediately available about the person who was killed. Cpl. Chris Kelch of the Georgia State Patrol said an estimated 13 students aboard the school bus suffered injuries and were taken to South Georgia Medical Center. The crash blocked all lanes of southbound I-75 for about two hours Monday. The State Patrol and the Lowndes County school system did not immediately return phone and email messages Monday evening.
