Volcano Eruption in Peru on June 25 2019 04:39 AM (UTC).
The volcano began emitting small amounts of ash (most likely phreatic) today at 7am local time- the first activity in two years. The ash and gas plume has been rising to only a few hundred metres above the crater so far. The alert level has been raised to yellow. Seismicity has risen above background levels with signals indicating rising fluids and authorities expect more activity in the coming days; the volcano may be in the process of entering a new, "full" magmatic eruptive phase (similar to its fellow Peruvian volcano Sabancaya's current eruption), the third since reactivation in 2006.
