At least seven people were killed and four others injured by landslides in Songan village, Kintamani, Bangli district, Bali, the National Disaster Mitigation Agency, or BNPB, said on Friday (10/02). BNPB spokesman Sutopo Purwo Nugroho said torrential rains in the area on Thursday have triggered the slides. On Thursday evening, a joint rescue team has found five bodies at the scene. Four persons were rescued from the houses buried under a large mass of mud and rocks. "Heavy rains are expected until Saturday in the districts of Bangli, Jembarana, Buleleng, Tabanan, Gianyar and Badung. Their residents are advised to be on alert as landslides, floods and strong winds can occur," Sutopo said.
