A university student has been found dead after chemical substances were found at a hall of residence. Emergency services were called to the Bournemouth University campus shortly after 8pm last night, where they found a woman's body. The surrounding buildings were evacuated after the presence of unknown chemical substances was reported. A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "We were informed of a sudden death of a woman aged in her 30s at an address in Gillett Road in Poole. "It was also reported that the property contained unknown chemical substances. "Officers together with the Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service attended the address. "As a precaution residents of the surrounding properties were evacuated while the substances were removed." There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances and next of kin have been informed. A Bournemouth University spokesman told the Standard: "We were made aware of an incident on Thursday evening 12 January on our Talbot campus and can confirm the death of one student whose next of kin are being informed with our thoughts and support extended to them. "Emergency services responded and we are actively working with the police on this matter and making supports available for any student who has been affected. "This was an isolated incident that poses no risk to staff and students on campus this morning."
