Explosion in China on April 22 2016 08:11 AM (UTC).
A fire broke out in a chemical and fuel warehouse, Jiangsu Deqiao Storage, in China's Jingjiang region, leading to a huge explosion on Friday. Local media and the Jingjiang city government reportedly said that the blaze was under control and there were no casualties. The government also said that situation was "normal," according to Agence France Presse. However, a thick cloud of smoke was seen rising from the accident site. The blast at the chemical storage sparked fears as similar incidents have occured in China, which is lax with industrial safety. A fire at a factory in Tianjin in August 2015 had killed 165 people. In January 2016, an industrial blast in Shanghai had killed four people and injured two.
